6 Things You Need To Know About Art X Lagos, Nigeria's Biggest Contemporary Art Fair

The stage is set for Art X Lagos, West Africa's first international contemporary art fair kicking off on November 4, 2016 and ending on November 6, 2016.

Holding at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, the exhibition, co-sponsored by 7UP will feature a selected group of invited art galleries from Nigeria, South Africa, Mali, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Cameroon and across Africa and the Diaspora, showcasing the most innovative contemporary art by established and emerging artists, as well as interactive projects and presentations, with live areas for performance artists, illustrators and graffiti artists.

These are 6 things you may not know about Art X Lagos.

1.) Sponsor, 7UP is a well known as supporter of creativity in Nigeria, having been associated with creative heads and pioneers such as Afrobeat legend, Fela and many others.

2.) A live art and sound performance titled "Intersections" featuring Nigerian artists, Olatunde Alara, Stacey Okparavero, Yadi Chinma, Dricky Stickman, with notable music acts, Falana, Simi, Vector, Poe and prolific producer Ikon will take place at the exhibition. This one-of-a-kind creative and experimental performance attempts to create an immersive experience that pushes the boundaries of art engagement in Nigeria.

3.) Lemi Ghariokwu, the man behind the design of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti's album cover art between 1974 and 1993 will be present at ArtXLagos.
